Bacchanalian Dining Experiment

In 2011, as an expression of my enduring obsession and love of food, I created an ongoing series of works I titled the Hungry Grlz Project (HGP). I began the series by directing actors in food-related scenarios, which later evolved into detailed performances that were documented in photographs, videotapes, and works on paper and canvas. In each scene I created, the table became a set for performance that explored a hedonist philosophy of feasting. Both performers and invited guests ate and joyously interacted with copious amounts of food, drink and each other, manifesting creature desires: Food as drug, Sexual object, Sensual experience, Celebratory indulgence, and Ritual. The first in this series of absurd dining experiences, A Bacchanalian Dining Experiment, was performed and recorded in my studio in September 2011.
